Yes, that famous opening line is pretty much the case right at the moment.

At last, the first term is over! And not a moment too soon
My group project (worth 4% of my entire degree) is all ready to submit when we get back after X-mas.
All my coursework for the term made it in on time.
I have complete lecture notes for all my courses.
The floor in our basement is finally being fixed! (only taken 3 months of complaining)

I'm finally getting enough spare time to do all the things I want.
So far that has mostly entailed sleeping until i wake up naturally (haven't made it out of bed before noon yet)

Ah, the joys of holidays.

Alas, all is not perfect.
Happenings out of my control and all that
(Sometimes I feel so usless)

But hey, we do what we can, and focus on the good things. Which at the moment, are very good!

You won't see any posts from me till the new year, I'm back off to Harrow, the Land of Dial-up.
So Merry X-mas one and all, and my the new year bring all you desire.

Yes...the ever creeping hands of time have passed on another year.
On tuesday 29th November (thats this week) I turn 21!

To celebrate, I plan to go to the union in the evening and drink lots.
I'd appreciate it if some of you lovely people would come and drink with me.

It turns out I don't have archery this week (wish I'd found out sooner), so will probably be in the bar from about 6 onwards. Anyone who wants to join me, meet in the sci-fi library then.

See you there

OK...I'll give this a shot

1. In 2003 I won the Mechwarrior Darkages (that's the clix game) UK championship at GenCon UK

2. The back of my head appeared on Grange Hill in a brass band in about 1999

3. The lead singer of McFly was in my class at Primary School, and we went to the same college. We used to be quite good friends till he went to acting school, now I hate him. His real name is Tom and I think he's gay (or used to be anyway)

4. The owner of the 'Sandwich Shop' used to give me a staff discount in my first year because I had just spent the summer working at 'Playing Games' (which he also owns)

5. I've played about 3 concerts in the Albert Hall with the youth orchestra I was part of back in Harrow. I played the trombone and once added an extra note to the ending of 'Mars'....whoops!

Wow..I've done some pretty odd things...

Huzzah!

After a week of almost no work, one of my semi-supervisors finally turned up back in college so I could check over with him if the stuff I've been doing is actually any good or not.

In fact it seems really useful! He was impressed with how much I had done (even though I've spent more time updating various websites than actually working) and wanted to talk more tomorrow.

I hope doing a PhD is just like this, then I'll do one for sure.

In the mean time, just one more day to go. Then I get two weeks to rest up before a new term of pain begins (got to hold onto that 1st degree)
